With the program we nicknamed FIRST Focus, we are trying to spread FIRST® to as many schools as possible in our community. We want to ensure that these resources are available to every child in the Antelope Valley, no matter what school they go to. At the time we started this, there were only 4® FIRST Robotics Competition teams in the Antelope Valley, 4 FIRST® Tech Challenge Teams, and 3 FIRST® Lego® League teams. We believe that every student in the Antelope Valley should be able to join a FIRST program, and that every student should have the opportunity to work in the STEM field if they want to.
